Lenovo’s A6000 Plus is one of the best budget 4G smartphones, that comes with Android KitKat and Vibe UI, while supporting 4G LTE in India, and it has 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage. Because it has the Snapdragon 410 processor powering it, the phone is very good at performance and recently the device has got the most awaited Android Lollipop update via OTA.

Lenovo A6000 Plus Lollipop Root

So, before gettiing the OTA update, it was very easy to root the A6000 Plus device but after the firmware change, people have to follow the different supported method in order to get root access. Here, I have a working guide to Root Lenovo A6000 Plus on Android Lollipop via Fastboot and SuperSU.

Benefits of rooting

  • With the help of root access, one can remove those apps which are pre-installed by your network provider or by manufacturer.
  • Because of rooting you can also get the free storage space, rooted apps are available for efficient memory management.
  • After rooting user can also update their phone to the latest version of Android (by flashing a custom recovery/ROM).
  • It provides customization options when you use your new administrative rights to flash a custom ROM (again, see the end of this procedure for more info on that).
  • Rooting also increases the battery life of the Smartphone because those running constantly can be removed).

Things to do

  • This could void the warranty of your device. We won’t be held responsible for anything that happens from doing this tutorial so please proceed at your own risk.
  • You need a Windows based PC to do this procedure.
  • This should erase all the data stored on your device. So, please backup anything that you feel is important before going ahead.
  • Download this tools (contains adb, fastboot, supersu, custom recovery)
  • This method will work for both the S052 and S028 variants of the device.

As I have already mentioned above, To root the device, you’ll first have to unlock the bootloader and then flash a custom kernel. It’ll inject required files into your device to achieve root. Here’s how to root Lenovo A6000 Plus on Android Lollipop.
