How to easily root HTC Desire 820 and install TWRP recovery

  1. First of all, connect your device to your PC and transfer the SuperSU zip file to your device’s SD card, try not to put the file inside any folder and disconnect your device from the PC and switch it off.
  2. Then extract the TWRP recovery file on your PC and then boot your device into fastboot mode, to do so, press and hold Volume Down+power button until you see HTC logo on the boot screen.
  3. Now again connect your device to your PC and go to the folder where you have extracted the TWRP recovery file you have just downloaded from the above link.
  4. Inside the extracted folder, you will see a file named ‘flash-recovery.bat‘, just double-click on it to begin TWRP recovery installation.
  5. Wait for the process to complete and after completion, disconnect your device and reboot into recovery mode, press and Hold the Volume Up+Power button.
  6. Once entering to the recovery mode, select ‘install zip from SD card’, as you select this option, it will ask you to locate the zip file, you browse the SuperSu zip and begin the installation.
  7. After flashing SuperSU, just reboot your device by selecting the reboot option.
